3D ultrasound provides a three dimensional image of the fetus. Sound waves are sent at different angles by the transducer for the computer to reconstruct the height, width, and depth of the image.
A 4D ultrasound ultrasound is most often done for entertainment and not for medical reasons. It is similar to a 3D ultrasound except that the image it generates is continuously updated and creates a live video effect, like a movie.
Ultrasounds performed at 14+ weeks of pregnancy can often reveal gender. If you'd like an early opportunity to know whether you're having a boy or a girl, be sure to schedule right away. At your request, we’ll conceal the answer in an envelope and you can have a "reveal" party for your family and friends! You'll receive a flash drive with photos and several printed images, sealed or not…your choice!
The best chance to see your baby moving, from kicking and stretching to yawning (yes, babies can yawn in the womb) is from 28 to 36 weeks. This session is approximately 20 minutes of scan time and images are sent directly to your cell phone through a text message. We can also save your digital ultrasound images to a USB flash drive if you bring one to your appointment.
